Chelsea slammed with 74 charges

Premier League club Chelsea have been slammed with 74 charges over alleged breaches of agent regulations by the Football Association, FA.

The report was made public on Thursday. According to Sky Sports the transfers which raised potential concerns include deals for players like Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto’o and Willian.

The FA stated that the charges against the Blues span the period between 2009 and 2022 under the reign of the club’s former owner and Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

It was revealed that the charges relate to events which occurred between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons.

According to reports, the alleged rule breaches are for payments to intermediaries and agents, and investments in third-party ownership of players.

The breaches were self-reported by the Blues now own by American billionaire Todd Boehly, who have cooperated with the football body on the issue.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues will face no points deduction or sporting sanction if the charges are upheld.

Instead, the West London club could face a punishment similar to their recent settlement with UEFA, which was a €10m fine.
