Chelsea set to reward youngster with new contract

Chelsea might be willing to add quality to their squad next summer but the blues are not ready to lose some of their young players while doing so.

The blues have been linked with some players across the top five leagues in Europe but a new report from England have suggested that Andreas Christensen is in line for a new Chelsea deal.

Christensen’s Chelsea stint at Chelsea has been mixed with some loan spell ever since he joined the club’s youth ranks in 2012, departing his home country of Denmark.

The young Danish defender spent two years on loan in Germany between 2015 and 2017, where he impressed with Borussia Monchengladbach.

He has now become a fans favourite at Chelsea despite playing on rare occasion ever since he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

However, his fortune has changed in the past few weeks as he has been able to replace Thiago Silva in the backline and has impressed Thomas Tuchel.

With his current contract set to remain just a year come the summer, talks are reportedly yet to have taken place over an extension but that might change in the next few days.

According to a report from the Telegraph, Chelsea are planning to offer Christensen a new contract as they are willing to keep him at the club as long as possible.

Though Christensen might be thinking twice before signing the deal there are chances that he will put pen to paper due to the deal he will be offered.
