Chelsea set to offer defender new deal

Chelsea are keen on keeping Spain international Marc Cucurella in their squad ahead of next season.

Cucurella, who joined the Blues from Brighton has remained a key player, including under the Blues current manager Enzo Maresca.

Amid report linking Cucurella with moves away from Stamford Bridge, the Blues are said to be set to offer a new deal to the defender.

Popular football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea will offer a new deal to the Sprained.

He wrote via his X handle: “As exclusively revealed, Chelsea will offer new deal to Marc Cucurella as talks will advance soon. Cucurella, happy at Chelsea and club very happy with Marc.

The latest update means, Cucurella will be staying put at Chelsea despite links with Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr.

Cucurella remains Chelsea’s first-choice left-back, and he has been able to build a tougher culture at the club over the last 18 months.

Meanwhile, the Spaniard’s current deal with the Blues is set to expire in 2028, but they are likely to hand him an improved terms to keep any interest at bay.

Cucurella has also been assured of regular game time at Chelsea ahead of next season.
