Chelsea reach agreement with Pochettino as their new manager
The latest report via Sky Sports has revealed that Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as their permanent manager.
The 51-year-old returns to the Premier League after he was sacked by Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019.
Pochettino will take over from interim manager Frank Lampard at the end of this season and become the Blues permanent manager to succeed Graham Potter, who was sacked in April after less than seven months in charge.
The former Tottenham boss has a difficult task ahead of him as the Blues have failed to impress this season.
Despite splashing £600m in the last two transfer windows, Chelsea are seated at the 11th spot on the table and will end the season without a trophy.
There is also no European football for Chelsea next season.
Pochettino has been out of coaching job since he was sacked by French side Paris Saint-Germain PSG last summer. He led them to the Ligue 1 title in 2022 and the French Cup the year before.
