Chelsea owner eager to add former manager as part of Frank Lampard’s backroom staff

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to bring former Chelsea manager Avram Grant to assist Frank Lampard who is currently under pressure at the club.

Frank Lampard has not been able to repeat his good first season as his team have been struggling to win matches despite spending fortunes during the last transfer window.

The former England international brought in the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva and some young players but they have not been able to help the Blues compete with the likes of Liverpool.

According to report, Roman Abrahimovic has sustained a good relationship with Avram Grant and he’s willing to acquire his service so as to help Frank Lampard in his role.

Though the 65-year-old has not coached for several years since leaving Indian side NorthEast United in 2018, Sky Sports’ report claims his role would be as part of the coaching team rather than a behind-the-scenes gig.

There are chances that Grant might be making the move as he once shared his opinion on Frank Lampard’s era at Chelsea, noting that he should be given enough time to show his worth.

Hopefully, with the addition of Grant in the Blues squad, they would be able go pick up once again.
