Chelsea new midfielder gets shirt number

Chelsea’s newest midfielder Denis Zakaria has been handed the shirt number 20 following his arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Swiss international completed a season-long loan from Serie A side Juventus, with the Blues having the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

Zakaria wouldn’t be available for the weekend game vs West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as he is ineligible to play.

However, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in a statement revealed he hopes he can include the new midfielder in one of the matches next week, against either Dinamo Zagreb in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night or Fulham.

Another iconic player to wear the No.20 shirt for Chelsea was Deco.

In another report, Chelsea striker Aubameyang has also been ruled out of their weekend match against the Hammers.

Tuchel hinted he could make his debut in the UCL against Zagreb on Tuesday night.
