Chelsea midfielder told to retire
Former Chelsea star, Frank Lebouef, has sent a message to the club midfielder N’Golo Kante as he advised the Frenchman to listen to his body and consider making a shocking decision to retire.
Kante has been missing in action for Chelsea this season as he has made just two appearances so far.
The France international, who was unavailable for his home country during the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar, is yet to play under new Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
As of now, Kante is still some way short of being ready to make his Chelsea return as he has been plagued by knee and groin injuries in each of the last two seasons and with his body apparently failing him.
According to Lebouef, Kante’s decision to prematurely call time on his incredible career might be his best option.
“I have not spoken to [N’Golo] Kante directly about his fitness and how he feels, but it could be that he’s nearing the end of it [his career],” Lebouef told Safe Betting Sites.
“Because the thing is we’ve to understand that we are talking about a human being. Suddenly, your body says okay enough, leave me alone.”
He continued: “The end of your career is also a part of your career, and you’ve to choose the right time to give up. Even if you don’t want to and even if your football is great and you want to carry on.”
