Chelsea Midfielder tipped to win Ballon d’Or

Chelsea midfielder and Italy international, Jorginho has been tipped to pick up the prestigious Ballon d’Or this year.

This claim was made by Chelsea player, Emerson Palmieri who is currently on loan at Lyon.

Emerson made this known ahead of the Blues’ Champions League clash with Juventus on Wednesday.

He stressed that the Italian midfielder deserves the Ballon d’ Or after winning the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Euro 2020.

Recall that in 2020, the Ballon d’ Or was not handed out to any player due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The likes of Lionel Messi, N’Golo Kante, Mo Salah, among others, have been tipped for the award.

Emerson, while speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, “Donnarumma PSG goalkeeper did great things at AC Milan. Like me, Jorginho won everything, but he has played at a high level for a couple of seasons. He deserves the Ballon d’Or.”

In another report, Chelsea will hope to return to winning ways when they face Italian side, Juventus, after losing to Man City in the premier league over the weekend.
