Chelsea midfielder says he is ready to play against Man City
Chelsea will return to action on Thursday when they face Man City after they were held to a draw by Nottingham Forest in their last match in the EPL.
Ahead of the clash against the Premier League champions, Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria in a statement told the Evening Standard that he is ready to play against Manchester City on Thursday.
Recall that the Switzerland star has started both games since the World Cup, with him being replaced in the second half in both of them.
He was also impressed on the two occasions he played for Chelsea.
With Chelsea’s key midfielder N’Golo Kante unavailable due to injury problems, it is an opportunity for other players midfielders including Zakaria to shine.
While Croatia star Matteo Kovacic has now returned to the Blues squad, Zakaria in a statement said he is prepared to play against Man City.
“I will prepare for it like the other games/ Every team is good in the Premier League so you have to prepare. I will be ready like always.
“We’re looking forward to playing in a top football match. Against City, it is always really, really difficult so we will have to play well and score all our chances.
“We will have to do a big game, if we don’t do a big game against Manchester City then it is hard to win.”
