Chelsea midfielder returns to training
The latest report has revealed that Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has returned to training after he was said to have been battling with an Achilles issue over the past three weeks.
So far this season, the Blues midfielder has made nine starts and ten substitute appearances and has played just 25 minutes of football since testing positive for coronavirus during the middle of December.
Loftus-Cheek was missing in action during the Blues trip to Abu Dhabi, where they won the FIFA Club World Cup last week.
According to football.london journalist Adam Newson, Loftus-Cheek has been undergoing treatment on an Achilles issue since the closing days of January.
The England international is said to have had a problem with the Achilles opposite to the one which kept him out for over a year between May 2019 and June 2020.
Although Loftus-Cheek was seen in training earlier this week, he is unlikely to play for the Blues on Saturday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
