Chelsea midfielder linked to Man City

Chelsea fans wouldn’t be happy should they lose their midfielder Mateo Kovacic to a rival club in the Premier League.

Kovacic has been linked to departure from Chelsea this summer and a number of clubs have expressed interest in him.

However, Italian football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in a statement said the player’s representatives have held talks with the Premier League champions, Man City.

The negotiations involved personal terms for Kovacic, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Spanish club Real Madrid in 2019.

Romano tweeted on Wednesday: “Manchester City have opened concrete talks to sign Mateo Kovacic in the summer.

“Positive discussions took place with the player’s camp in the last few days over personal terms.

“Chelsea, open to selling Kovacic as part of midfield revolution. Talks will continue soon.”

It would be a big blow for Chelsea to lose Kovacic to Man City, who are currently regarded as the EPL champions with some of the best players already signed to the club.
