Chelsea midfielder leaves on loan

Chelsea midfielder Alex Matos has left Stamford Bridge to join Championship club Huddersfield Town on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The reports of Matos’s exit from Chelsea was made public in a statement released via the club’s website on Thursday evening.

Matos signed for Chelsea from Norwich City last summer and quickly established himself in Pochettino’s first-team squad.

The 19-year-old, who can play in the midfield or attack, made his Chelsea debut in their win over Fulham last October.

He was also featured in the Blues’ second appearance in the Carabao Cup win against Blackburn Rovers.

“He will now continue his development at Huddersfield, who sit 21st in the Championship,” Chelsea’s statement read in part.

Meanwhile, like other clubs in Europe, Chelsea are actively looking for new players to sign amid their woeful this season.
