Chelsea midfielder announces departure amid emotional message
Chelsea will have a lot to do this transfer window as their midfielder, Saul Niguez, in a latest statement confirmed his departure from the club this summer.
The Blues midfielder made this known in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Tuesday evening.
Niguez, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Spanish Atlético Madrid on loan last season, appreciated his Blues teammates for their support during the campaign.
Niguez will now return to his parent club in Spain.
At some points during the season, there were claims the Blues were considering signing Niguez permanently, but it turns out it didn’t work out.
He tweeted: “Hello blues,
“I’m writing to take my leave of you. I would like to tell you how I felt during this adventure. Things didn’t start well at all. After a long time at home, changing everything wasn’t easy. (…)
“Thank you for making this club much bigger. Thanks to all the fans for supporting me through thick and thin. I will be forever grateful.”
