Chelsea, Man City in race for Bayern Munich star

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Chelsea will be challenging Premier League winners Manchester City in the race for a new player.

This comes a journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Chelsea and Man City are keen on signing Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies this summer.

The two English football clubs are said to have their eyes on the Canadian in the upcoming window.

Davies is nearing his final contract year at Bayern Munich, sparking speculations that he could be on the move this summer, as the German club are not willing to lose him for free next year.

There are reports that Chelsea and Man City are ‘long-term admirers’ of Davies and both sides are keen to add a left-sided defender in the upcoming transfer window.

Recall that centre-back Josko Gvardiol covered at left-back for Man City in the previous season, while Chelsea star Ben Chilwell struggled with multiple injuries and only made 13 league appearances last season.

This means the signing of a player like Davies will be a big boost for both Premier League.

Chelsea are not expected to table any bid for a new player till they secure a new manager to replace Mauricio Pochettino who left the club at the end of the season.
