Chelsea fans set to return to the stadium in blues clash with runaway Premier League champion

Chelsea fans might be having an opportunity of seeing their team in action again when the blues take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final next month.

The second wave of Covid-19 has seen top leagues in Europe not allowing fans in the stadium so as to curb the further outspread of the virus.

However, the FA are planning on allowing fans in the Wembley Stadium when Chelsea take on Pep Guardiola’s side on Saturday, April 17.

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden disclosed this while speaking with BBC Sport, he noted that the Blues’ clash with Man City and Southampton’s FA Cup semi-final against Leicester City will be played in front of crowds.

He noted that the plan is to look at factors like one-way systems, ventilation within a stadium and how you interact in terms of getting to and from the venue.

Dowden added that the purpose of this is not so much the overall number, it is how fans interact with each other, so it’s the social distancing that they have from each other as it’s the behavioural factors.

How many will be allowed inside Wembley and whether they will be supporters of either club has not yet been disclosed.
