Chelsea eye these three players as replacement for outgoing players
Ahead of what could be a crisis in the Blues defence line, a latest report jas claimed that the club have lined up three players they could sign next month.
The players the Blues are reportedly eying, according to Eurosport, are Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Juventus’s Matthijs de Ligt and Villarreal’s Pau Torres.
Chelsea are likely to make a move for all the three defenders if their centre-backs players Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen eventually leave Stamford Bridge on free transfers next summer.
Rudiger and Christensen’s current contract with the Blues are set to lapse at the end of this season.
So far, the discussion on a possible extension of contracts of both defender have not been smooth.
While Rudiger is unwilling to accept Chelsea’s latest salary offer, the reports revealed that talks have now also broken down with Christensen, which means they might be prepared to move elsewhere next season.
Apart from Rudiger and Christensen, veteran defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva’s contracts with the Blues will also lapse next summer.
With these, the report revealed that Chelsea are determined to bring in at least two central back defenders next summer.
So far this season, Kounde has been impressive for Sevilla, but De Ligt has not lived up to expectation at Juventus since joining them from Ajax two years ago.
However, Torres has been impressive for Villarreal and would likely be the least expensive if Chelsea were to sign any of the three.
