Chelsea defender moves to Burnley

Chelsea defender, Ian Maatsen has signed a deal with Burnley, currently managed by former Man City star Vincent Kompany.

Maatsen is Kompany’s and Burnley’s 7th signing this summer transfer window.

The defender joined the Championship club on Friday on a season-long loan.

Speaking on his move to Burnley, Maatsen told the club’s side: “I’m excited to come here and play for Burnley. It’s a big club and a new challenge which I’m ready for.

“It’s a different town but a new challenge. I look forward to meeting new people and this season will be good for me.”

Maatsen scored three Championship goals in 40 matches under Mark Robins last season to help Coventry secure a top-half finish on goal difference.
