Chelsea comfirm shirt number of this player

The arrival of Robert Kenedy a few weeks ago was evident that he had been recalled to Chelsea to serve as backup for Ben Chilwell, who is out of the Blues squad for the rest of the season owing to injury.

Well, Chelsea have confirmed this speculation in a latest decision they took and Kenedy will remain at Stamford Bridge for the rest of the season and pending the time Chilwell returns.

The Blues made the decision official today after the club registered the 25-year-old as part of their Premier League squad for the rest of the season.

Kenedy has been given the No.23 shirt, which was last seen on Michy Batshuayi.

The addition of Kenedy is the only impactful change from the first half of the season.

Lewis Baker, who left on a permanent transfer to Stoke City last month, had been officially registered, so he’s been removed to make room on the 25-man squad.

Baker had not made a single matchday squad in the league and played just 30 minutes in total.

However, unlike Baker, Kenedy does not count as homegrown.
