Premier League side Chelsea are said to be completion with Spanish side Barcelona in the race for AS Roma star Paulo Dybala.

The 30-year-old is currently nearing the end of his second season at Stadio Olimpico having made the switch from Juventus in 2022.

Following his impressive stint Roma, Dybala has gone to create 32 goals and 17 assists from 69 appearances in all competitions.

However, he has failed to win a trophy with Rome, albeit his side are still in the race for this season’s Europa League trophy after finishing as runners-up in 2022-23.

With Daniele De Rossi being confirmed as Roma’s new head coach on a full-time basis, a decision now needs to be reached regarding the future of the Argentina international.

A report by journalist Rudy Galetti via social media X revealed relevant parties are yet to hold any serious talks regarding a new contract for Dybala.

Going by his current contract, Dybala has just over 14 months remaining, while there is a release clause present in his current deal.

The clause has been alleged to be at around €12m (£10.28m), a figure that will naturally generate interest during the summer transfer window.

Galetti claimed Chelsea and Barcelona have already gathered preliminary information on the potential availability of Dybala.
