Chelsea attract no interest for defender

Ben Chilwell was named as one of the players Chelsea are willing to offload this summer transfer window, however, he has attracted no interest so far.

Recall that after Enzo Maresca arrived at Chelsea as manager, the England international lost his spot in the first-team squad.

Chilwell was sent out on loan to Crystal Palace in the second half of the campaign, making two starts and nine substitute outings in all competitions for the Eagles, who won the FA Cup.

However, Crystal Palace didn’t make moves to sign the 28-year-old on a permanent basis.

The Athletic reported that neither Chelsea or Chilwell have attracted interest from any club so far.

This maybe due to Chilwell’s expensive wage, history of injury issues and lack of game time.

Chelsea and the England international will have to cut down on their demands when it comes to negotiating terms, if they ever get an offer.

Chilwell has two years left on his contract and may be prepared to run that down if no suitable offers arrive.

The Englishman, who cost Chelsea in the region of £50m back in 2020, may remained at the club even though unused next season.
