Premier League sides Chelsea and Aston Villa have landed in trouble with UEFA for financial breaches.

The recent reports via The Times disclosed that Chelsea and Aston Villa will be fined for first-time breaches.

This comes as it was discovered that Chelsea had surpassed the limits on financial losses for last season.

The football body also didn’t give the Blues approval to declare the income they got from selling their women’s team.

The sale, which was to their sister company Blueco 22 Midco Limited, was said to have brought in a world-record £200million revenue.

However, unlike the Premier League, UEFA doesn’t give approval to clubs declaring income from selling assets to sister companies.

Villa, on the other hand,, are said to have breached the limits.

The recent update revealed both clubs are allowed to lose a maximum of €200million over a three-year period. But deductions can be made for spending on youth and women’s teams, as well as on their facilities.

This is coming Chelsea’s busy schedule in the summer transfer window, where they hope to sign new players to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad for the next season.

The Blues who won the Conference Cup will play in the Champions League next season.
