Champions League: Chelsea’s clash with spanish giant moved to a neutral ground

Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid has been shifted to a neutral ground due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

Thomas Tuchel and his team have been scheduled to meet Atletico Madrid on
Tuesday, 23 February in Spain but that will not be happening due to the Coronavirus pandemic that shut down football world some months ago.

In a new development, the match will now be played at the Arena Nationala in Bucharest where Thomas Tuchel will be eager to start his European adventure with a win against the La-Liga leaders.

Despite the change of venue for the first match, Chelsea will still host the second leg at Stamford Bridge but not in the presence of their fans.

UEFA who has been working tirelessly to ensure that clubs in Europe are attended to thank both clubs for their support and close co-operation as well as the Romanian Football Federation for its assistance and agreement to stage the fixture.

Chelsea are currently back in form in the Premier League and will be eager to prove a point in the Champions League where they qualified for the round of 16 unbeaten.

Hopefully, Chelsea will be able to make it to the next stage of the EPL if they defeat Atletico.
