Chalobah reveals two players who inspired him at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah has revealed the two players who inspired him to work harder at Stamford Bridge.
According to Chalobah, the two players are Reece James and Mason Mount.
Recall Chalobah was on loan last season at French Ligue 1 club Lorient and waiting to get another loan club this season before the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel saw potential in him during the pre-season.
He would go on to score his first goal vs Crystal Palace.
“That was my motivation,” Chalobah told Chelsea’s official website.
“I watched all the Chelsea games when Mason Mount and Reece James were playing under [Frank] Lampard. I would rush home to watch the games. Seeing them play for Chelsea is massive.
“I played with them throughout all age groups and then I was seeing them play on television.
“Training with those two [Mason and Reece] just brought back the days when I was training with them back in Academy days, so yes, it made me feel confident and relaxed.”
Back in November 2021, Chalobah signed a new contract with Chelsea, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2026.
