Carabao Cup: Tuchel lauds this two Chelsea players
Chelsea returned to action on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup when they went head to head against Aston Villa.
The match was a tough one, but the Blues managed to win through a penalty shootout that saw the game ended in a 4-3 scoreline.
Timo Werner played as the striker for the Blues in the match and gave them a goal before the game ended.
The Blues goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, also performed exceptionally as he made some great saves and helped during the penalty shootouts.
At the end of the match, Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has applauded Kepa and Werner for their performances in the game.
Tuchel, in a statement with Chelsea official website, said Werner was brought into a situation where he could score, “this is what we want, and then it’s on him to score. That’s why he is here. It’s the best feeling for a striker to score,” Tuchel said.
On Kepa, Tuchel stressed that the goalkeeper is very strong at penalties and has good experiences in shoot-outs.
“I’m happy the players kept their cool. It’s a nice win and I’m happy because it was a tough match, a hard cup fight, and it’s a good feeling to win,” the Blues manager said.
The Blues will face Southampton in the Carabao Cup third-round tie and return to action in the EPL this weekend when they play Man City.
