Broja reacts as he scores for Chelsea vs Fulham
Chelsea stat Armando Broja returned to action for the Blues during their Monday night game vs Fulham.
Broja who had to remain patient and keep working hard to make his way back into the squad had lost chances for starting for Chelsea over a injury he sustained in the winter.
However, his moment came 324 days since his last Premier League start, against Newcastle United in November, he returned in the line-up for our trip to Fulham.
Broja scored the second goal for Chelsea in their 2-0 win.
‘It’s an unbelievable feeling,’ said Broja in a post-match statement.
‘It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been out for a while so it’s good to be back. I’m so happy for the team to win the game and carry on this momentum going forward. It’s an even better feeling for myself to get my first goal of the season on my first start, so I’m just thankful.
It’s amazing. I always dreamed as a little kid of playing in the Premier League and scoring as many goals as I can. It’s just an unbelievable feeling to be on my first start and score in a derby. There’s no better feeling than to get the three points and to score.
‘As a striker they all count, no matter how it goes in – a goal’s a goal. It’s important for strikers to score confidence-wise, it’s just a big drive going forward. But the most important thing is the three points. We were struggling a bit, but it’s two wins on the bounce now and hopefully we can continue that momentum going forward.’
