Brighton star close to becoming a Chelsea star

Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo is now close to becoming the latest addition to the Chelsea squad this summer transfer window.

Caicedo is expected to have undergone his medical checks on Monday morning ahead of completing his British transfer record £115m move to Chelsea.

The Blues are expected to pay £100m upfront plus £15m in performance-related add-ons.

A report via Sky Sports reported that the Seagulls have a significant sell-on inserted into the agreement.

Caicedo, who had also attracted interest from Liverpool, turned down the move to Anfield as he favoured a transfer to Chelsea instead.

The Ecuador midfielder will sign a contract for eight years plus the option of a further 12 months.

Recall that Brighton signed Caicedo in 2021 for £4.5m from Independiente del Valle and they have already made a whooping gain from his sales to Chelsea.

Caicedo is expected to improve Chelsea’s midfield after they witness a mass exit of many of their midfielders this summer.
