Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva is looking forward to another impressive second season at Chelsea.

Thiago Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer last season and was able to melt fans heart with impressive performance week in week out.

He ended the season on a high, winning the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea and he has a chance to begin the new season with more silverware a the blues take on Europa League winners Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

Speaking to the club official website ahead of the match, Thiago Silva stated that it is the beginning of the season, but the Super Cup is a match to top last season’s achievements.

He noted that Chelsea will face a very competitive team in Villarreal, it will a tough game, but the blues will get on the pitch to lift the trophy.

Silva insisted that Chelsea have everything in place to do their best, so they need to work hard to reach their best form to play a great match and get their hands on the trophy.

Speaking about the new season, Silva stated that he evaluate the season with a positive grade, because Chelsea were champions of the main title in the continent, a title that the team had not won since 2012.
