Former Juventus defender, Leonardo Bonucci, in a recent statement has disckosed he reason he turned down moves to the Premier League and French Ligue 1.

Recall that at some points, Bonucci was linked with moves to Manchester City and PSG, but he rejected the bids.

He has now admitted he turned down the offers because he wanted to be close to his son in Italy.

Man City were ready to splash €100m in 2016 for Bonucci but the Italian stayed with Juventus and instead ended up at AC Milan one year later.

In a statement via Sky Italia, the defender said he didn’t go to Man City in 2016 because Juventus would never sell him, and he was happy at the club at that moment.

He recall that In 2017, Vincenzo Montella and Massimiliano Mirabelli called him and said I was going to be the captain of AC Milan and since he didn’t want to go abroad and had already given Milan the green light when PSG and Manchester City called.

Bonucci stated that he joined Milan because of the friction with Massimiliano Allegri and he wanted to be close to home because of his son.
