Blues captain is back: Chelsea handed boost Vs Liverpool
Chelsea have been handed a major boost ahead of their next game against Liverpool as their captain Reece James has returned to training.
So far this season, James has not played for the Blues, with his last appearance coming in May.
Recall that the English right-back recently suffered a setback in his recovery, but was able to join in training on Monday.
The 24-year-old also barely featured for Chelsea in recent seasons, as he deal with incessant injury concerns.
This saw James limited to only 11 games in all competitions last season and 24 the year before.
However, he is now part of Enzo Maresca’s squad preparing for a trip to Anfield to play Liverpool this Sunday.
It is, however, unlikely that Maresca will give James a chance to play just yet as the Blues captain could play from the bench.
Chelsea will hope to maintain their top form by defeating the Reds when they meet come weekend.
While the west London side are at the fourth spot on the Premier League log, Liverpool are the current toppers, with Man City and Arsenal at the second and third spots, respectively.
Chelsea will hope to at least split points with the Reds.
