Bayern Munich refuses to rule out interest in this Chelsea star
German club Bayern Munich are ready to give it their all in the bid to sign Germany international Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea in the next transfer window.
This comes as Bayern Munich chief Hasan Salihamidzic in a statement, refused to rule out the club’s interest in the Chelsea centre-back.
Rudiger, who is in his final 12 months of his current deal with the West London club, has reportedly decided against extending his contract with the club.
With this recent development, Bayern Munich are rumoured to be interested in bringing Rudiger back to his homeland, and sporting director Salihamidzic has now addressed the rumours linking his side with the possible transfer.
Speaking to DAZN, the Bayern chief said: “It’s not okay when we talk about players who are at other clubs. Julian [Nagelsmann] said that about him in the press conference, but he is a coach who sees quite a lot of players – so why shouldn’t he evaluate an international and talk about his strengths.
He added that Bayern Munich are well-staffed at centre-back as they have strengthened themselves with top players like Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Tanguy Nianzou, and Benjamin Pavard.
“We have had very little time – I had an appointment today on Friday. We didn’t see each other for that long, but we talk a lot about players, sure,” the Bayern chief said.
