Barcelona leading the race to sign Chelsea striker

Spanish side Barcelona have reportedly shown interest to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea this summer transfer window.

Chelsea have been bush this summer, making moves for players like Ajax’s Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

The Blues have also offloaded players like Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Djordje Petrovic, Joao Felix, with more expected to leave before the window closes.

Jackson, who has been Chelsea’s starting centre-forward for the last two years, is one of those whose future is in doubt at Stamford Bridge.

With the arrival of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer, the Senegalese could witness limited game time next season.

Manchester United were previously linked with moves for Jackson with the Red Devils proposing a swap deal that could see Alejandro Garnacho move to Stanford Bridge.

However, Barcelona are now leading the race for Jackson, who the Blues reportedly now values at €50 million.

Previous reports had suggested that Chelsea wanted more than €100 million for the striker, which unreasonable given his current form.

The Blues have reportedly now set an asking transfer price of €50 million for the 24-year-old, to appeal to many teams.

According to CaughtOffside, Barcelona are leading the race to sign Jackson.

The Spanish club’s sporting director, Deco, is expected to initiate negotiations with Chelsea over a one-year loan with an option to buy permanently.

However, Jackson wants to remain in the Premier League of he leaves Stamford Bridge.
