Ballon d’Or award event schedule release as Kante, Jorginho, Messi and others battle for the award

The latest update has revealed the schedule for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

According to the reports, the Ballon d’Or nominees for this year’s award will be made public on October 8, 2021.

It further revealed that the award ceremony, which will consecrate the winners, will take place on November 29, 2021, at Théâtre du Châtelet of Paris.

This was made known by the French Football in a post via their website on Wednesday.

For the men’s Ballon d’Or, a jury of 180 international journalists will determine the 30 nominated; for the Women’s Ballon d’Or, 50 journalists specialising in women’s football will choose the 20 nominated.

Recall that the prestigious award was not handed out to any player last year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic that affected the football world as well as other industries across the world.

For this year, Chelsea stars Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are among the names of players that are expected to battle Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi for the Ballon d’ Or.

Hopefully, one of the Blues midfielders will be able to win the award for this year, especially after they won the UCL trophy last season.
