Arsenal star to captain England Vs Belgium

England manager Gareth Southgate in a pre-match statement ahead of their Tuesday’s international friendly confirmed that Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice will captain the team.
Recall that Rice played all 90 minutes as the Three Lions suffered a 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday.
The Arsenal midfielder will now lead the English national team out when they take on the Red Devils of Belgium’s at Wembley.
The 25-year-old midfielder who has become a crucial player since making his debut in 2019, will also be winning his 50th cap for his country.
“It is a pinch-me moment, it will be an honour. I was absolutely lost for words when he [Gareth Southgate] said to me I was going to be captain,” he told the media.
Rice takes the captain’s armband, with former Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Man City star Kyle Walker out injured.
