Arsenal move close to signing Hincapie as update on his transfer surfaces

A fresh update on Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié’s move to Arsenal has emerged online.

According to new report, Hincapie is set to fly to the UK for medicals ahead of a transfer to the North club.

This comes as Leverkusen and Arsenal finally reached agreement on Friday over a season-long loan with an option to buy permanently.

A report via Sky Sports revealed the Gunners could spend around £45 million for Hincapie.

As the transfer draws close, Bayern Leverkusen have given Hincapié the green light to travel Emirates Stadium for medical tests this weekend.

It was also reported that the Ecuador star has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with the Gunners, should the club choose to trigger the option.

Once Hincapie’s transfer is done, this would trigger the transfer Jakub Kiwior to Portuguese club Porto.

Arsenal’s agreement with Porto for Kiwior is understood to be a loan which include an option to buy, worth £24 million.

Should Hincapie’s deal go through, this would make him Arsenal’s eight signing this summer transfer window.

Recall that the Gunners signed Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace as their 7th signing after hijacking from Tottenham Hotspur.
