Arsenal have the strongest squad this season – Former Chelsea star spills

Former Chelsea star and Nigerian midfielder,  Mikel Obi, has claimed that manager Mikel Areta’s Arsenal have the strongest squad in the Premier League this season.

Recall that the North London club made some stunning moves in the summer, spending over £250m on eight new players, with main focus on winning the title this season.

Arsenal signing Viktor Gyokeres was the main talking points as the Gunners finally signed an out-and-out striker.

The Gunners also welcomed new players like Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie this summer.

“The club again, the owners, the hierarchies have gone out again and massively backed Mikel Arteta,” Mikel Obi said on The Obi One Podcast.

According to Mikel, the Gunners now have the strongest squad in the Premier League alongside Liverpool.

He added that in terms of depth, Arsenal have the strongest squad, two players in every position.

The new signings mean Arsenal and Arteta have ensure they win the Premier League title, which they last won two decades ago.

As of now Arsenal are at the third spot on the league table, with Liverpool and Chelsea at the first and second spots respectively.
