Arsenal Agree Transfer with Chelsea and Book Medical for New Signing

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and are preparing to conduct a medical for another incoming player, as Mikel Arteta begins to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The Gunners have had a relatively quiet start to the summer transfer window but are now moving decisively. Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi is set to join from Real Sociedad in a deal worth £55 million, despite late interest from Real Madrid. Arsenal have been pursuing Zubimendi for several months and are expected to officially unveil him next week.
In a separate move, Arsenal have also secured a deal for Spain international Kepa Arrizabalaga. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the club will pay Chelsea £5 million for the 29-year-old, who once became the most expensive goalkeeper in history when he joined the Blues for £72 million.
Kepa struggled to live up to expectations at Chelsea but now has an opportunity to revive his career at the Emirates Stadium. He is expected to serve as back-up to David Raya following Neto’s return to Bournemouth.
Arteta identified the need for a reliable second-choice goalkeeper and views Kepa as an experienced and capable option. With two major deals close to completion, Arsenal’s summer business is beginning to take shape as they look to build a squad ready to challenge for silverware next season.
