Arsenal accept £22m to sell midfielder ahead of Declan Rice’s arrival
Arsenal are set to let their midfielder, Granit Xhaka leave this summer transfer window.
This comes as reports have linked Xhaka with a move from German club Bayer Leverkusen, who are willing to pay considerably more for the midfielder.
A report via Football.London revealed the German club are set to pay £21.5million fee, which is quite higher than the £13million they initially offered.
Xhaka, who moved to the Emirate Stadium from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016, seems close to sealing a return to the Bundesliga.
The 30-year-old midfielder departs after arguably his best season at the Emirates Stadium, in which he provided seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
His departure has also been linked to the impending arrival of West Ham captain, Declan Rice, who is expected to be his replacement.
The Gunners are very close to sealing their £105m deal for Rice, who is set to undergo medicals at the club.
