After losing out in the race to win the EPL title, Chelsea backed to win the Carabao League

Former Man Utd star and pundit Rio Ferdinand has backed Chelsea to win the Carabao League for this season.

The Blues made it to the tournament’s final after they defeated Tottenham in the first leg and second leg of the semi-final with an aggregate of 3-0 scoreline.

Chelsea will now face one of Liverpool or Arsenal in the finals to be played at Wembley stadium.

Before making it to the finals, the Blues had defeated four Premier League teams in Aston Villa, Southampton, Brentford and Tottenham.

Liverpool and Arsenal played out a goalless draw in the first leg of their semi-final at Anfield and are scheduled to meet in the second leg slated to take place at Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

Ferdinand, in his statement, believes the Blues will emerge victorious in the final at Wembley.

“I think Chelsea will win it,” Ferdinand said on Vibe with FIVE.

“I think Chelsea will win it, Chelsea know how to win cup competitions, they’ve got that about them.

“They won the Champions League, they’ve got the confidence, they know how to do it on the day, I see them doing it.”
