Chelsea Boss reveals he was doubtful of the performance of this summer signing

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confessed he has some doubt over the ability of Thiago Silva when he was about to join the Blues during the summer transfer window.

Thiago Silva joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer, as Lampard tried to reinforce his backline that shipped 54 goals last season.

The Brazilian has been putting in an impressive performance ever since he made his debut as his great understanding of the game have seen him build a great partnership with Kurt Zouma.

Frank Lampard when asked by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher if the centre-back had performed even better than he had anticipated.

Lampard admitted that he has defy all odds with his performance week in week out.

According to the Chelsea boss, Silva has been able to prove doubters wrong at the age of 36 noting that he was in and out of the team at that stage of his career.

Lampard noted that he knew Silva was a top player, had been a great player for a long time but the pressures of the Premier League is high.

The Blues coach stated that Silva has performed well and he shouldn’t be been surprised as working with him now he can see his quality.
