After a long delay, Manchester United have finally parted ways with Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo.

Man United were forced to end Ronaldo’s deal after Ronaldo slammed the club, and their manager Erik ten Hag, among others, during his explosive interview with Piers Morgan a few days ago.

The termination from Old Trafford means the 37-year-old is now free to join a new club after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

A report via Betfair has named Chelsea are among the frontrunners to sign Ronaldo after his contract was terminated on Tuesday.

Recall that the Blues made moves to sign Ronaldo in the summer, with the club’s chairman, Todd Boehly, determined to make it happen, but their former manager Thomas Tuchel turned down the opportunity, which was part of why he was sacked.

With Graham Potter now in charge, it is believed the Blues could make a fresh move for Ronaldo.

Sporting CP are another favourite to sign Ronaldo, who played for the club in the past.
