Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has given his verdicts on the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the new manager after an unhappy spell under Frank Lampard.

Rudiger was one of the most experienced defenders at Chelsea during Frank Lampard’s era but the Germany international was unable to break into the team.

The former Roma defender had to settle for a place on the bench but his fortunes have changed ever since Thomas Tuchel was appointed.

Rudiger while speaking to Sky Germany shared his thoughts on Tuchel’s important club as he stated that the most important impression he’s made is that he knows what he wants.

Rudiger noted that Tuchel has his way of playing football, which is positive for many players and this is also reflected in the latest results, it has been a good, positive start for him.

The Germany international also revealed how it feels to be back on the pitch after an unhappy spell under the guidance of Frank Lampard.

He stated that at the end of the day you want to be on the pitch as a footballer, as a footballer, you can’t be satisfied and you want more, you want to play so that’s been a real positive for him.

Rudiger added that Tuchel wanted to bring him to PSG in the summer but otherwise, they’ve not spoken as he has only played against him so they didn’t know each other before.

Chelsea have been in a good form ever since Tuchel started his tenure as they’ve moved up tone point behind fourth-placed Liverpool.
