Wilshere reacts to Arteta open invitation to train at Emirate Stadium
Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has responded to Mikel Arteta’s open invitation for him to train at Emirate Stadium.
Wilshere, in a recent statement, revealed he would speak with Arteta over the invitation.
Recall that last week, the Arsenal manager sent an invitation to Wilshere to return to the North London club.
This is owing to the fact that the 29-year-old is a free agent following the end of his contract with Bournemouth at the end of last season.
Wilshere, in a statement with SkySport, said to hear Arteta come out and say the door is always open is nice.
“I think that it can only help me. As you said, being around good players, training with world-class players and, as well, just being in a team environment is something that I am interested in,” he said.
The former Gunners player revealed he would be speaking with someone from the club soon.
Wilshere possible return to Arsenal will be a positive one for the North London, who are struggling to perform this season, having being dumped out of the top six on the Premier League table.
