Super transfer journalist delivers update on Granit Xhaka’s situation at Arsenal
Arsenal are set to lose their experience midfielder Granit Xhaka who is close to completing a move to AS Roma from the Gunners this summer, according to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano.
Mikel Arteta is currently going through a rebuilding process at Arsenal, with the board eager to turn the club’s fortunes around.
The Gunners have been linked with some young players who they believe will play an essential part in the club’s pursuit for greatness.
However, some experienced player have been linked with a move away from Emirate Stadium. One of them is Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka, who is under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2023, was a regular fixture in the Gunners team last season, but that has not stopped his name from being listed among outgoing players.
Popular transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano while speaking on the Here We Go podcast noted that Xhaka is close to joining Jose Mourinho at AS Roma.
Romano said that Granit Xhaka to Roma from Arsenal is close, and he thinks when the Euros is over, he’ll complete his move, adding that Jose Mourinho wants Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka played an essential role for Switzerland during the Euros, assisting on one occasio in four games as they reached the quarter-finals, where they ended up losing to Spain on penalties.
