Florian Wirtz Sets Sights on Bayern Munich Despite Premier League Interest

Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz is reportedly focused on a future move to Bayern Munich, despite strong interest from several top clubs across Europe, including Arsenal and Manchester City.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been instrumental in Leverkusen’s successful season under manager Xabi Alonso, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances. His performances have attracted significant attention, with Premier League sides particularly eager to secure his services.
Last summer, Wirtz chose to remain at Leverkusen to participate in the Champions League, turning down the chance to move abroad. However, as the summer transfer window approaches, speculation around his future is set to intensify.
Arsenal and Manchester City have both been linked with the German international. City, in particular, view Wirtz as a potential successor to Kevin De Bruyne, who is expected to depart. Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid have also been monitoring his situation.
Despite the interest from England and Spain, reports from German outlet Bild claim that Wirtz is solely focused on a move within the Bundesliga. The midfielder is said to favour a transfer to Bayern Munich and is not entertaining offers from foreign clubs at this stage.
Wirtz remains under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027, but a move to Germany’s most successful club could be on the horizon if Bayern act on their interest.
