FA Cup: Arsenal receive boost ahead of faceoff with Southampton

Club football tournament is set to return this weekend after a brief international break. Arsenal will return to action on Saturday, when they face Southampton at St. Mary Stadium in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Arsenal return to club tournaments with a number of injury concerns.

The North London club will also play Sporting CP in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday, amid serious injury issues.

Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi are unlike to be available, while Piero Hincapie is in need of treatement following a knock during Ecuador’s draw with Morocco.

However, manager Mikel Arteta has been handed a boost ahead of the Gunners’ match with Southampton.

This comes as Myles Lewis-Skelly, who completed 90 minutes in both matches for the England U21s returned without any signs of fatigue.

He could receive a not to play for the Gunners this weekend.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will hope to ensure they win the FA Cup after they lost the Carabao trophy to Manchester City.

Also the Gunners remain favourite to win the Premier League title this season as they are seated at the top of the log.
