Arteta provides update on Saka, White and Saliba

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be hosting Nottingham Forest this weekend as the English Premier League returns after the first international break of the season.

Arteta in a pre-match press conference gave the latest fitness on Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Ben White.

The manager ruled out Saka from playing against Forest as he said the English winger is trying to get back as quickly as possible, stressing that Arsenal need to respect that process.

Speaking on when Saka could like return to the squad, Arteta said,

“Let’s see, he’s evolving really well, with very specific work at the moment. The moment that we increase that load, let’s see how he reacts.”

With Saka out, former Chelsea star Noni Madueke is expected to return to action for the Gunners when they face Nottingham.

Saliba on the other hand trained with the rest of the Gunners squad on Friday. He added that Ben White is okay.

The manager disclosed that decision where yet to be reached on if Saliba will play against Nottingham this weekend.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will hope to pick three points against Nottingham having suffered defeat to Liverpool in their last outing.
