Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided team updates after their recent win against Italian Serie A side AC Milan in Singapore on Wednesday.

Arteta shared update on Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes as neither of them was involved at the National Stadium in Kallang following recent fitness problems.

While Gabriel featured for Arsenal in a behind-closed-doors win over Watford last weekend after returning from hamstring surgery, Timber underwent a minor ankle procedure towards the end of last season.

Addressing the media in his post-match press conference, Arteta confirmed that Timber was yet to return for full training, while Gabriel had sustained a new minor blow which kept him out of the match against AC Milan.

“Jurrien is still not there, he’s not fully trained yet with us, and Gabi had a little niggle the other day in training, and because of the fact that he’s been out for so long as well, we have to manage him,” Arteta said.

Despite Gabriel and Timber absence, Arsenal defeated AC Milan with a 1-0 scoreline thanks to a goal from Bukayo Saka in the second half.

The Gunners could have scored more goals if Milan’s goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani didn’t come in as a substitute in the second half
