Arsenal’s next game in the Premier League will be against a tough side Liverpool who they must defeat or at least hold down with a draw if they must remain a title contender this season.

Former Arsenal star, Theo Walcott, ahead of the match has sent a message to manager Mikel Arteta.

Walcott urged Arteta to replace William Saliba with Riccardo Calafiori at centre-half against Liverpool next weekend.

The former Arsenal star expressed worries about Liverpool winger Mohammed Salah’s space against Calafiori.

Walcott made this demand after Saliba was handed a straight red card on Saturday as the Gunners suffered a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

The France international will now be unavailable for Arsenal’s three Premier League fixtures against Liverpool next Sunday followed by Newcastle United and Chelsea marches.

Walcott in a statement via Sky Sports said he would probably move Calafiori in to centre-half.

He added that he would be worried about Salah’s pace against the defender because Calafiori isn’t the fastest.

Walcott said might bring in the experience of Zinchenko.

“They might need more of a talker, someone who knows this sort of fixture and the importance of it. Mikel knows that,” the former player added.
