Arsenal’s injury blow Vs Bolton confirmed

Arsenal will return to action on Wednesday when they play Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup.

The Gunners head to the match after 2-2 draw against Manchester City in their last Premier League outing.

Ahead of the match against Bolton, the Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has said captain Martin Odegaard will be out “for a number of weeks” with an ankle injury.

Recall that Odegaard sustained the injury while on international duty for his country Norway early this month.

Arteta, in a pre-match statement last week, confirmed the Gunners’ captain’s injury was “significant.”

However, while addressing the press ahead of their game against Bolton on Tuesday morning, Arteta put a timeframe on his absence.

The North London club manager also confirmed that Oleksandr Zinchenko’s calf injury will keep him on the sidelines for a sustained spell too.

Arteta while speaking about Odegaard’s injury said he believes it will be a matter of weeks, however, how long exactly it will be was what he couldn’t say.

When asked if there is any chance of the Norway player returning ahead of next month’s international break, the Gunners’ manager said, “We might get a surprise but I think it’s unlikely.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will hope to bounce back with a win against Bolton tonight.
