Viktor Gyokeres’ proposed move to Arsenal is reportedly at serious risk of collapsing, with the striker now said to be distancing himself from the deal.

According to reports from Portuguese outlet A Bola, the transfer from Sporting CP has reached a standstill, with key issues still unresolved—leaving the player’s camp frustrated and his father reportedly emotional over the uncertainty.

Arsenal, who have already completed four major signings this summer—Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke—have long identified a centre-forward as a priority. An agreement was recently reached with Sporting on a transfer fee for Gyokeres, but progress has since stalled over the payment structure and additional terms.

A Bola claims the Gunners have yet to re-engage Sporting following the breakdown in talks. Three major hurdles are reportedly holding the deal back: disagreements over performance-based bonuses, the timing of payments, and other contractual details.

The lack of communication from Arsenal has raised concerns in Portugal, with the report suggesting the club must act quickly to revive negotiations before the deal completely falls apart.

While Arsenal remain confident of adding firepower to Mikel Arteta’s squad, this latest development casts doubt on whether Gyokeres will be the man to lead their front line. The striker’s future now hangs in the balance as both clubs face mounting pressure to find a resolution.
